A family in the trade

Kody Kristof started in tree work young โ€” partly because his father has been in the tree business for decades. The Kristof family has been climbing, cutting, rigging, and clearing trees across Northeast Florida for a long time, and that's the foundation Kristof Land Management is built on.

Today, Kody runs a broader operation โ€” land clearing, site prep, and seawall work alongside the tree side โ€” but tree work is still what's underneath all of it.

Climbing work

Some trees can't be done from a bucket truck. Tight backyards, trees over pools, trees against fences, trees that lean wrong โ€” these are the jobs that take an actual climber, with rope, saddle, and the experience to know how to take a tree apart from the top down without putting anything (or anyone) at risk.

This is the kind of work Kody has been doing since he was young, and it's the part of the trade most contractors don't actually do โ€” they sub it out or recommend you find someone else.

Tree removal

Trees come down for a lot of reasons โ€” disease, storm damage, a remodel, a new pool, a driveway that needs room, or just a tree that's too close to the house. Whatever the reason, we handle it from start to finish: drop, cut up, haul away, and clean up.

Big residential removals usually combine climbing or bucket work at the top, controlled cuts down the trunk, and skid steer cleanup on the ground. The whole operation runs from one crew, on one schedule, with one person responsible โ€” Kody.

Common tree removal work

  • Dead or dying trees
  • Storm-damaged trees and hangers
  • Oaks, pines, magnolias, and other Northeast Florida species
  • Trees too close to homes, garages, pools, or septic systems
  • Multiple tree removals for lot prep or new construction

Bucket and lift work for tight access

For tall canopy work, large mature oaks, and properties where ground access is good, bucket trucks and lifts let us work efficiently without the time (or cost) of a full climbing operation.

The harder case is trees in backyards where a standard bucket truck can't reach โ€” over a pool, behind a fence, around a shed or playset. For those jobs we bring in spider lifts and compact platforms that fit through gate openings and side yards. The right tool for the right job, every time.

Tree trimming & pruning

Florida storms don't care about trees you've been meaning to get to. Regular trimming is the cheapest insurance you can buy โ€” it keeps limbs off your roof, reduces wind resistance during hurricane season, and keeps trees healthy.

We trim for clearance from buildings, for shape, for storm prep, and for the overall health of the tree. We don't top trees or do hack jobs that hurt long-term health.

Stump grinding

Removing the tree is one job. Getting rid of the stump is another. We grind stumps several inches below grade so you can re-sod, replant, or build over the spot. We can grind stumps from trees we remove or from old stumps that have been sitting for years.

Storm damage & emergency work

When a tree comes down on a fence, a roof, a driveway, or across a road, you need someone who can show up quickly with the right equipment. We handle storm cleanup and tree emergencies for Northeast Florida homeowners and property managers.

If you're calling for storm work, mention it when you reach out โ€” we move emergency calls to the front of the schedule whenever we can.

Why hire Kristof Land for tree work

  • Eight years on the saw, plus a lifetime around it. Kody has been running tree jobs in Northeast Florida for eight years, and was around the work long before that.
  • Owner on every job. The person who quotes the work is the person doing the work โ€” usually up in the tree.
  • Right equipment for the access. Climbing rope, bucket truck, spider lift, skid steer. Whatever the job needs.
  • Full insurance. Tree work is risky. Hiring an uninsured tree guy puts you on the hook if something goes wrong. We carry full coverage.
  • Clean up included. We don't leave debris for you to deal with unless you ask us to.
